Design Process

I was commissioned to design a vibrant and personalized invitation for Cheryl Legohn-Tubbs’ 60th birthday luau in New Orleans. The goal was to capture a fun, tropical atmosphere while keeping it classy and legible for guests of all ages.

The client provided a bright, high-saturation luau invitation as a reference, requesting something that blended that tropical feel with a unique, modern layout. They emphasized incorporating florals, drinks, and playful wording while avoiding anything too generic or template-like.

Final Design: A layered tropical collage featuring custom drink illustrations, bold type for age visibility, and punchy floral elements that frame the layout and add motion.
